Awhile back, I was looking online for a hoodia gordonii appetite suppressant. In reading many reviews, I found that there were some pretty insane claims made about hoodia and other weight loss supplements.

I want to share what I learned when reading the reviews so that you could avoid wasting your time and money on false hoodia products. Im a nutritionist, so its easy for me to distinguish between real hoodia products that will help you lose weight (such as the one I use, HoodiThin) and junk!

The form of hoodia that is most effective is liquid hoodia. So, scratch any diet pills containing hoodia off your list for now.

For one, diet pills take longer to digest. You want an appetite suppressant that will work quickly. Hoodia gordonii pure liquid extracts will hit your system at lightening speed. That will offer you the quickest path to not feeling hungry, which will in turn help you lose weight more effectively.

Though some liquid hoodia supplements contain other ingredients, HoodiThin is 100% pure and devoid of fillers that many diet pills contain. The fillers in diet pills merely slow down digestion and thats the last thing you wanted to spend your money on.

Finally, hoodia isnt cheap. The hoodia cactus grows in South Africa and its protected. It can only legally be traded with CITES certified companies. Obtaining cheap hoodia usually means that the hoodia is fake or impure.

Lap band surgery is a procedure that is being performed on many people to help them lose weight and it has shown great success. Unlike gastric bypass surgery, it does not involve bypassing any part of the intestine. As a matter of fact, a band is placed around the top part of the stomach, creating a pouch for the food. The food then slowly makes its way to the larger part of the stomach where the digestion process begins. The individual feels fuller faster, making portion control much easier. However, this is not a quick fix for obesity. This simply makes the process easier, especially for those who cannot lose weight through traditional means. But anyone wishing to lose 100 pounds in six months may be somewhat disappointed.

Weight loss

Healthy weight loss is said to be 1 to 2 pounds per week. When you diet and exercise through traditional means, this is how much weight you should lose. This means that you can lose anywhere from 50 to 100 pounds per year, which is fantastic.

With lap band surgery, the World Health Organization states that 1.1 to 2.2 pounds is the average and healthy weight loss. However, some individuals are simply physiologically capable of losing more after having the weight loss surgery.

At first, the weight loss may occur slowly for the fact that an individual who has lap band surgery may not be able to exercise. All they do is eat the right kind of foods in the right portions. As for how long it takes for weight loss to occur after weight loss surgery, this can depend on the individual. There are also other determining factors because it can take a little while for the lap band to be in a good position that the patient feels good. For example:

- The lap band may need to be adjusted a couple of times at the lap band clinic after the weight loss surgery because it is important that it is comfortable. It should not cause any type of pain.

- It is possible that the port that is used to inject and remove saline from the lap band can move out of place. If so, that issue needs to be fixed.

- There are several steps that have to be followed after the weight loss surgery and these steps take weeks to complete. For example, you have to go on a liquid diet. Some people say they see immediate weight loss and that they may lose more at first than what they do later on in the diet. Eventually, the transition to regular foods is made comfortably.

From there, the 1 to 2 pounds of weight loss will occur. Eventually, exercise can take place. Although it may seem like a journey that will be long, the steady weight loss will make it seem not so bad. Simply make small goals for yourself. For example, make your goal to lose 4 to 8 pounds for the month. At the beginning of the next month, weigh yourself and see your goal become real. You can then mark it on your calendar and set a new goal. Do the same when you add exercise into your routine and you will see yourself shrink before your eyes. Once you hit your ideal weight, it is then time to maintain it, which is something you will find easier than the actual weight loss.

- Nutrition and physical fitness go hand-in-hand. If you are serious about staying fit and healthy, you should know this. Diet is always part of physical fitness. Food is the only source of nutrition. If you are not careful about the type of food you should be enjoying, you may be at risk in getting the wrong fats in your body. The human body needs fats. But it only needs enough to support its daily activities. Therefore losing love handles also mean eating the right food at the right time.

- Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Now you got all the basics covered. Exercise regularly, tone your abdominal muscles, and eat the right kind of food. But there’s one more to take note. Doing all this is not just something you do for a short time.

Losing love handles may all be about determination and consistency. This is simply because the human body never stops storing fats. More so, the older you get, the easier it is for it to stock the fats in. Therefore you must not stop. To do this, you have to think of this as your new lifestyle.

Why is it so important to shed those fats? Not only is it ugly but it’s not healthy too. Stored fats in your belly will eventually cause heart diseases if unattended. So the next time you see someone with a flabby waist line, think about yourself. If you have them, it’s either you are living an easy-going unhealthy lifestyle or you’re just being plain lazy.
