Removing or healing scars are customarily associated with big money operations the average person think only moneyed individuals can afford. Although it is a fact that these expensive procedures are some of the most effective scar removal options available to us at this time, it is not something that is available to most people especially those who make up the mid-income segment of the population. Fortunately, there are already some methods available to the average Joe that are more or less more feasible in the financial sense.

But before we get into these effective scar treatment options fit for those with limited budget, let us first research the methods being falsely peddled as cheap methods but in reality are not effective at all.

There are a ton of products, methods and procedures out there that are easily accessible by the average person but unfortunately, most of them are bogus and do not provide any clinical proof as far as their scar treating claims are concerned.

Vitamin E creams – these products are some of the most widely pushed out there claiming it will help in your scarring worries. However, these products are not only quite ineffective at what they claim they do but they also have a high probability (about 30%) of causing allergic reactions. They are however quite effective as moisturizers.

Onion extracts-based products – a well-known example of such product is Mederma which in a study has been shown to be not more beneficial than the placebo used, which basically is not saying much in favor of the product. Experts are even advising doctors to tell their patients that onion extracts based products will neither cause harm nor benefits to their scarring issues.

Other scar curing options like those made from cocoa, aloe vera, cucumber and lime juice have not been demonstrated to actually work hence are also dubious in terms of whether they really would do some good.

Products that offer effective scar treatment without breaking the bank are products that has silicone in them like silicone sheets and creams (more effective when used in conjunction with each other). This products have been clinically shown to be good in improving or removing scar tissues, even with keloids or hypertrophic scar tissues. This is backed up by scientific clinical trials and is considered as the standard in scar treatment today.

Silicone sheeting is ideal since it is not invasive and is quite painless and most especially, relatively cheaper compared to other effective options. This approach is even more effective if used early in the wound healing process and is used extensively in treating burn injuries.

Improving the appearance or eliminating scars altogether does not have to be accomplished by expensive surgical methods as there are now cheaper methods that have been shown to actually work such as the silicone treatment approach.

If you’ve ever watched a TV infomercial channel, you’ve no doubt seen someone on there hawking some of the latest exercise equipment. Offers to work miracles on your abs, your thighs and your buns abound. If these gadgets are so good, how come so many can be found on offer at neighborhood garage sales? The fact is, most of it is just hype designed to make a buck. The exception is the core exercise ball. This is possibly the best piece of fitness equipment ever developed.

Also known as a stability or fitness ball, it’s basically a huge, inflatable rubber ball designed to withstand pressure of up to one thousand pounds. You can sit on it, lean on it or lie down across it, which are positions utilized when working out with this piece of fitness equipment.

Its use has become so popular in recent years that no serious professional fitness trainer would be without one. They’re inexpensive to buy, easy to learn to use, and possibly the most effective device known for strengthening your core muscles. And developing your core muscles makes every other exercise you do easier and more effective.

Your core muscles are the muscle groups that are used for initiating all of your body movements. They are in the center or core of your body, also known as the torso. If you strengthen your core you will be increasing support for all of your body and benefiting your whole self.

What makes the use of a stability ball so effective is the need for your body to balance. Without proper balance you won’t be able sit on this sphere without rolling off or falling over. In order to maintain proper balance, it’s necessary for your core muscles to be continually flexing, which effectively exercises them in proper fashion.

Ever wonder how people acquire those ’six pack abs’? It’s been known for some time that sit-ups won’t accomplish this — besides, doing sit-ups can be traumatic to your lower back and cause serious problems. But exercises done with an exercise ball, including a variation of the sit-up which won’t create injury to the lower back, will tone the exact muscles necessary to give you the abs you’re looking for. The key is working the core muscles… All of them.

There are several sizes to choose from and you should get an exercise ball that’s properly suited to your individual height. If you sit on your exercise ball with your feet flat on the floor and your knees form a 90 degree angle, you’ve got the right size. Some stability balls are softer than others, and are recommended for beginners since they’re easier to use.

Although originally designed to aid in the therapy of people who had suffered spinal injuries or had neurological disorders, the core exercise ball has evolved become a mainstay of exercise gurus everywhere. Use of the ball is the very best way accomplish beneficial abs exercises to develop awesome abs and, along the way, reduce the fat that’s been hiding that six pack all this time.

Did you realize hair loss caused by diet will be more temporary conditions and usually the hair loss is reversed when the diet is improved, when hair care improves and when an illness is cured or gotten in check. Thus, how do we become a healthy eater?

Eating healthy requires you to become both educated and smart about what healthy eating happens to be. Being food smart isn’t about learning to calculate grams or fat, or is it about studying labels and counting calories.

Healthy eating is all about balanced and moderate eating, consisting of healthy meals at least three times every day. Healthy eaters eat many different types of foods, not limiting themselves to 1 specific food type or food group.

Eating healthy requires a large amount of leeway. You may eat too much or not enough, consume foods that are sometimes more or less nutritious. However, it is wise to fuel your body and your brain regularly with enough food to keep both your body and mind strong and alert.

A healthy eater is a great problem solver. Healthy eaters have learned to look after themselves and their eating with sound judgement and making wise decisions. Healthy eaters are always aware of the things they eat, and know the effect that it will have on their bodies.

When someone is not able to take control of their eating, they are also likely to get out of control with other aspects of life too. They might wind up spending too much, talking too much, even going to bed later and later.

You should understand that restricting food by any means is always a bad thing. Healthy eating is a way of life, a little something that can be done to enhance your body or your way of life. If you’ve thought about making your life better, healthy eating is just the place to begin. You’ll make life easier for yourself, those around you, and even your family.

It does not take a rocket scientist to know that no one wants to get stretch marks. Unfortunately, though, stretch marks can be ruthless. Getting stretch marks is like getting hit by lightning; no one is really safe from it. Young, old, fat, thin, woman, or man, stretch marks are common skin woes that many people get embarrassed about in a world where beauty equates to perfection. Fortunately no one is perfect, however, many still strive to be so for individual reasons.

What causes stretch marks? These are generally scars caused by excessive pulling of the skin. The overstretching disrupted the collagen and elastic fibers comprising the bulk of the skin. Improper healing of the disrupted skin results in stretch mark formations.

Aggressive Treatments

Today, the two most successful treatments to get rid of stretch marks are laser therapy and chemical peeling. Laser therapy works by intentionally wounding the affected skin then allowing a certain period of time enough for the body to naturally produce new and healthy collagen and elastic fibers similar to that of normal skin. The laser not only stimulates collagen and elastin formation but also seals off blood capillaries that had burst.

The other way is through chemical peeling which makes use corrosive solutions (usually acids) in sloughing off the scarred topmost epidermal tier of the stretch mark resulting to younger skin cells to surface up. Skin removal is also an option for those who have excessive loose skin left over after tremendous weight loss. Light therapy is the latest technology involving light and gel to remove the stretch marks.

Milder Treatments

Of course, there are other milder options for stretch mark treatment. Topical medications in the form of lotions, creams, and ointments are available in your local pharmacies and beauty bars. Ingredients such as retinoids (i.e. retinaldehyde, tretinoin, and isotretinoin) alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), antioxidants (e.g. vitamins A, C, and E), lipids (wheatgerm oil, jojoba), and exfoliating products such as mineral crystals are also effective in fading stretch marks after appropriate and consistent use. The massaging application of such medications hastens skin healing by promoting blood to flow to the affected area.

Treatments From The Inside Out

Try developing a healthier diet. Improve your eating habits. Try to meet your daily nutrient requirements in particular protein, vitamins, and certain minerals such as zinc, all of which are vital for good skin. Collagen and elastic fibers are made of proteins, thus, eating proteins ensures that the body has a lot of material to work on for proper skin reconstruction.

Water therapy is another option. Drink lots of water to maintain a well-hydrated complexion. Allow yourself a few minutes under the sun to promote vitamin D production in your skin.

Who Needs Treatment?

One does not have to remove the stretch marks per se for them not to be seen. Camouflage the eyesores with the use of concealers, foundations and other forms of body make-up. Remember to select the two shades your natural skin tone lies between to guarantee that the most suitable combination that matches your actual color.

In some cases, stretch marks fade on their own over time. To facilitate the elimination of stretch marks, it would help if you figure out the cause of the stretch marks such as try to lose weight or exercise to toned up skin or avoid excessive use of corticosteroid creams.

Dermatology defines stretch marks as striae, and it refers to the scarring of skin that leaves a silvery white mark. Technically, this happens when there is a tearing of the dermis and the problem is these marks do not disappear very quickly and some can even last a lifetime.

Why do people get stretch marks? Stretch marks occur when there is rapid growth in the body that the skin cannot catch up with and this the tears. The skin, of course, is very elastic so it does not tear completely. They are usually associated with rapid weight gain and the question on most people’s minds is how to eliminate stretch marks.

The Symptoms

Stretch marks are not a disease. However, just like diseases, there are warning signs present so you will know if these marks will be occurring any time soon. The sign you must look for are red or purplish lines on the skin that are quite light and almost fading. These areas are soft to the touch.

On The Body – They can occur anywhere on the body and do not necessarily appear because of the stretching of the skin but because the middle layer of the skin (the dermis) is not healthy enough to support itself. They usually appear on the chest, abdomen, breasts, thighs, hips, and buttocks.

Prevention

How To Prevent It – The best solution to any problem is to prevent it from happening. Most women get stretch marks during pregnancy since their skin is stretched as their babies grow. It is important, therefore, for them to use certain creams that contain vitamin E, and collagen-elastin to help the dermis stretch correctly.

With regular use, stretch mark cream is one of the easiest ways how to eliminate stretch marks. But for those who are not pregnant and got stretch marks from weight gain or just plain non-healthy habits, there are other ways on how to get rid of stretch marks and this includes laser surgery, and prescription medication. The medication comes in the form of retinoids that must be taken daily for a month but they are very effective.

Maintenance

Another way to get rid of stretch marks and make sure that they don’t come back is to maintain a healthy skin regimen. It’s really a simple process and it involves maintaining a strict diet. For you to be able to have healthy skin that will not be prone to stretch marks, you should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and eat foods that are not fatty but are rich in essential fatty acids. These foods include fish, fruits, and vegetables.

Moisturize – The next thing to do is to keep your skin moisturized. If you do have stretch mark signs you can get rid of them by using top products out in the market.
