Weight loss industry have increased significantly over the years, especially recently and market is offering to potential consumers wide range of slimming products. Dieters can choose large number of names from appetite suppressants, fat burners, herbal diet supplements, slimming teas and other products including fat binder and fat blocker pills.

Purpose of fat binders and fat blockers is the same – preventing the absorption of fat by the body what leads to reduced dietary fat intake, reduced calories and eventually, reduced body weight. Theoretically, these products allow you to reduce the number of calories even when you don’t change anything in your lifestyle but practically, to see some noticeable results, you’ll have to change your diet and do a bit of exercising. Like with all slimming products in general, they are just as a support to your greater weight loss plan.

Bellow I’ll give 2 examples of products that are available which have proven themselves as effective and safe (excluding few mild side effects) weight loss products.

FDA approved fat blocker – Alli. As the name states this is a fat blocker which prevents the absorption of fat by your body which unabsorbed as a waste gets excreted. Orlistat (active ingredient) attaches to enzymes within the digestive system and preventing them the breaking down the fat. In average with Alli you can reduce your fat intake by about 25% which makes your dieting twice more effective than dieting alone. Alli have proven to an effective weight loss product but the downside is its side effects or treatment effects (called by Alli). Especially when instructions are ignored, which include low fat diet, side effects may appear. These may include diarrhoea, bowel movements, urgent need for the toilet.

Proactol. Proactol is a fat binder which, as name states, binds with fat. Active ingredient in a contact with ingested dietary fat forms binder-fat complex which is too large to absorb. Unabsorbed fat with fat binder then are passed through the body naturally. This way potentially, level of ingested dietary fat can be reduced by up to 28% and mixed with healthier diet and light exercising can benefit your weight loss quite effectively.

Prevention of fat being absorbed by the body is the purpose of both – fat binders and fat blockers. Which suits you better is your choice; fat binders are more forgiving because of no side effects when guidelines aren’t complied with but fat blockers force you to stick to the rule because if you fail then you’ll be “punished” by possible side effects.

Few people exercise enough, even though they are fully aware that it is a necessary part of living a healthy lifestyle. The reasons for failing to get enough exercise are mostly just weak excuses, as everyone has 30 minutes free, 5 days a week, which is all you need to improve your health, fitness and body shape.

If you are one of the people who make excuses for not exercising, then maybe it is time to try a new approach – a personal trainer. These exercise professionals will look at why you have not succeeded in the past, and will come up with a fitness regime that will help you achieve what you want to achieve.

If any of the following apply to you, then hiring a personal trainer is a step that you should seriously consider…

- You lack motivation to exercise 5 days a week.

- You have become bored of exercising.

- You are uncomfortable exercising at gyms, fitness centers or health clubs.

- You are not sure how to use the various kinds of fitness equipment available.

- You are recovering from illness or injury, and are not sure what exercise you can safely do, or at what intensity.

- You want to be in peak condition for an upcoming event, such as a marathon, vacation or wedding.

If you are still unconvinced that you need a personal trainer, maybe that is because you are unsure what exactly it is that they do. First of all, forget the myth that personal trainers are like gym teachers, or army drill sergeants, as that is not the case at all. Any personal trainer who acted in that way would not be in business for long.

A personal trainer is like an exercise buddy but, unlike just having a friend with you, they will, in addition to giving you moral support, do the following…

- Set measurable and achievable goals for you to achieve.

- Establish a personal fitness plan that will allow you to achieve the goals that have been set.

- Introduce you to exercises and fitness equipment that you have not learnt about before.

- Give you feedback on how to improve your technique for the exercises that do you do already know.

- Ensure that you are pushing your body at a level that is safe for you.

Now that you know why you need a personal trainer, and what they will do for you, the next point to address is how to choose a personal trainer. Asking the following questions is a good way to assess them…

- What are your qualifications and certifications, and who are they accredited by?

- How long have you been working as a personal trainer for, and can you provide references from your past clients?

- How busy is your schedule? Can you guarantee me the same appointments every week?

Removing or healing scars are frequently allied with big money operations the average person think only moneyed individuals can pay for. While it is indeed true that these expensive procedures are some of the most effective scar removal options available to us at this time, it is just not the option that most people can take due to financial issues. The good thing is that there are a bunch of alternative routes that the mid income person can take.

However, before we provide more details about these effective and financially “reachable” methods, let us first learn more about the methods that do not work regardless of whether they are cheap or not.

There are literally thousands of very accessible products out there but majority of them does not have any clinical proof to back up their claims.

Vitamin E-based products – there are thousands of scar removal creams and products out there that are based on one of the most popular supplements out there: vitamin E. Clinical trials performed to delve into this claim have revealed negative results and have even shown possible adverse effects with about 30% of human subjects manifesting signs of allergic reaction to the products. Vitamin E does seem to provide moisturizing effect but no more than that.

Products based on onion extracts – there are a lot of scar reduction products in the market that are based on natural ingredients such as onion extracts. An example of such product is Mederma. Unfortunately for this type of anti scarring products though, trials have indicated that they do not work as advertised and may just benefit the skin the way petoleum jellies do. These investigations have shown that it provides no scar healing characteristics but it does not have such risks of allergic reactions as vitamin E creams.

Other products derived from natural stuff such as cocoa butter, aloe vera, lime juice, cucumber are likewise being sold out there to be a alternative solutions to scarring problems but neither of them have been tested clinically to prove their claims.

Products that offer effective scar treatment without breaking the bank are products that has silicone in them like silicone sheets and creams (more effective when used in conjunction with each other). This products have been clinically shown to be good in improving or removing scar tissues, even with keloids or hypertrophic scar tissues. This is backed up by scientific clinical trials and is considered as the standard in scar treatment today.

Silicone sheeting is better since it is not invasive and is quite painless and most especially, relatively cheaper compared to other effective options. This technique is even more effective if applied early in the wound healing process and is used extensively in treating burn injuries.

Effective scar removal does not have to be as inconvenient as most other surgical option because there are non-invasive methods that are showing pretty good results such as the silicone sheeting treatments.
