Both these types of fat have had cycles of approval and disapproval within our society. Unfortunately, there seems to be yet another shift of approval happening within the mass media.

Unfortunately, these constant shifts are rarely based on sound science.

Thus, without further ado, here are the essentials of body fat and dietary fat:

1. Fat is in your circulatory system: Because fat within the circulatory system is not visible, many people forget about it. The problem here is that fat in your circulatory system is the most lethal. You see, this type of fat can make your heart shut down.

2. Fat is stored around your organs: Severely obese people can have fatty livers. And these livers tend to be very large in comparison to a normal liver. The end result is the displacement of organs that are in close proximity to the fatty liver.

3. Fat under your skin is the lesser of the evils: Having said that, you still want to get rid of it at some point. You see, excess skin fat will make it harder for you to absorb nutrients from your food and will also make your joints wear out quickly.

4. Eat fat from each group: Don\’t just eat walnuts all day. Your body works best with a wide variety of fats in your diet. In fact, you should strive for dietary fat balance just as you would strive for balance between fats, vegetables, protein and carbs.

5. Don\’t have too many fish oil pills: Fish oil is very healthy for you. However, when consumed in excess fish oil can become very damaging to your body. Not only can you increase bleeding times, but you can also oxidize your heart.

6. Have fat with every meal: For the slowest digestion rates, highest rates of satiety and the highest levels of hormone production, you need to have fat in every meal. Never go on a low fat diet because this approach will backfire on you.

Please ignore the constant shift in popular opinion on fat. All you have to do is take action on this information for increased health today!

Ultra skinniness is not the final indicator of complete health. After all, I’ve seen multiple case studies of very thin people having to undergo triple bypass surgeries because of poor blood lipid profiles.

Are your blood lipid profiles subpar? Well, one way to counteract this is to eat special foods when losing weight.

Thus, without further ado, here are 5 cholesterol-lowering foods for weight loss:

1. Chard: And try to get as many colors as possible into your diet. You can also have things like broccoli, kale or any other crunchy green. You see, these types of vegetables are loaded with anti oxidants, fiber and phytonutrients-substances that improve blood lipids.

2. Beans: This is probably one of the best foods you can eat to control your weight. And beans have both soluble and insoluble fiber which means they pack a powerful cholesterol-lowering punch. Just make sure you incorporate them into your diet slowly as they have lots of fiber.

3. Seeds: Removing the bulk of your saturated fats and trans fats is a great way to improve health and lower bad cholesterol. And if you replace the bad fats with healthy fats like those found in seeds, you will get even better results.

4. Green tea: Green tea has certain compounds that have been shown to improve cholesterol profiles. The key here is to make sure your source of green tea is the least processed. Thus, stay away from bagged teas and focus on loose leaf teas.

5. Cold water fish: You see, cold water fish is usually much higher in healthy fat content in comparison to warm water fish. The main consideration here, however, is to stay away from large, predatory fish and farm raised fish. Both of these are higher in toxins.

Improving cholesterol and losing weight can be enhanced by incorporating the above foods into your eating regimen. Even better, the above foods will provide many benefits that will make the whole process even easier!

Is Your Blood Sugar High?

by Katherine Crawford, M.S.

Your body needs sugar to produce energy. Without it, you would die. Unfortunately, too much sugar can also kill you. As you can see, this is a very delicate balance.

Unfortunately, in this day and age, high levels of blood sugar are becoming commonplace. In fact, even children are starting to appear with diabetes-something that has never happened before. Diabetes, by the way, is an extreme elevation of blood sugar.

So here is how to prevent your blood sugar from getting too high:

1. Work your muscles: Muscles, or active tissues, take up a large amount of mass in your body. And working out your muscles is a great way to lower levels of blood sugar. This happens because exercise increases blood sugar transporters on the surface of your muscle cells.

2. Take some super foods: Certain foods have been shown to decrease levels of blood sugar. Most of these foods use the same basic mechanism, an increase in insulin sensitivity. Now one great super food for lowering blood sugar is Ceylon cinnamon.

3. Have some caffeine: Specifically, in the form of coffee. You see, some research has shown that drinking coffee can lower levels of blood sugar. Just make sure you don’t add a bunch of creamer or sugar because this would simply cancel out the benefits.

4. Get a chia pet: Ok, I’m just kidding here-a chia pet will not lower your blood sugar. However, eating chia seeds will. Studies have shown that eating chia seeds is a great way to lower blood sugar and increase insulin sensitivity. The key here, however, is to find clever ways to integrate chia seeds into your daily diet.

5. Rotate carb intake: Carbs spike levels of blood sugar. And one way to buffer this is to rotate your carb intake. By doing so, you will increase sensitivity to carbs while decreasing blood sugar levels. I recommend having more carbs on the days you are most active and less carbs on the days where you are less active.

High blood sugar is a sure fire way to reduce your lifespan. There is no doubt here about this fact. Study after study has shown that populations with lower levels of blood sugar live longer. So start getting your blood sugar under control today!

It would seem as though the food industry is working against your flabby arms mission. After all, for them profit comes before consumer health.

Unknown to most women, a very LARGE quantity of what the food industry sells you is very unhealthy. And in some cases, they market the unhealthy as being healthy. Combine this with some bad food preparation practices and you have a recipe for arm fat galore.

Now the big problem here is that most women do not have the resources to separate the facts from fiction. After all, a lot of what the food industry does is very hidden. You really have to dig deep to find the truth.

Thus, here are 4 big no no’s when losing arm fat:

1. Charring food. If you cook something till the point that it’s very black, then expect an increase in colon cancer risk. There is NO reason to blacken food. So try to avoid over-barbecuing things and definitely avoid frying things.

2. Deli cuts. Deli cuts are so convenient, but they are also so bad. You see, they contain nitrates, substances that have been shown to increase colon cancer. So stay away from lunch meats and stick with healthier sources of protein. Your arms and body will thank you for it.

3. Overdosing with sweeteners. Get rid of fat arms the healthy way and do NOT consume large amounts of sweeteners. One study showed a 30% increase in cancer from very high sweetener intake. Only use sweeteners in moderation. Also, many products you consume on a regular basis already have sweeteners in them.

4. Water bingeing. Drinking huge amounts of water in one sitting is not a good way to stay hydrated. You are not a camel! Instead, drink small amounts of water in between meals throughout the day. This is the best way to stay optimally hydrated.

Losing arm fat can be healthy and fun. Follow my above tips to bring you one step closer to sexy arm success. Ignore the marketing hype and false advertising created by the food industry and stick to the facts. Only then will you get toned arms the right way!

One more thing: you have to act on this information in order for it to be of any value. So please do not procrastinate and take action.

Unfortunately, too many people are falling victim to heart issues. You see, modern environments are not designed with health in mind.

Now a lot of the “lack of physical activity” is a direct result of technological progress. So don’t beat yourself up if you find yourself in the seated position all day.

So without further ado, here are some tips for keeping your circulatory system in top shape:

1. Break a sweat, but save your joints: Getting your heart rate up for extended periods of time is a great way to keep your cardiovascular system healthy. But you have to take special care of your joints. After all, once your joints wear out, you can’t get them back. So make sure you stay away from high impact activities.

2. Use some outside help: A great strategy here is to take some aspirin which will help blood get through your body with ease. It will also reduce inflammation-a leading cause of arterial disease. Now make sure you discuss taking aspirin with your doctor before making it part of your daily regimen.

3. Increase your ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fats: There are good fats and bad fats. But even among the good fats, you want to make sure you are getting the optimal dosages. Omega-6 fats found in vegetable oils, cereals and grains are usually too high in the typical western diet. For optimal health increase the amount of omega-3 fats.

4. Take your dental hygiene seriously: Keeping those chompers, and the spaces between your chompers, clean is critical for arterial health. You see, having excess bacteria in your mouth will increase inflammation within your body. And remember that inflammation leads to disease and degradation.

5. Have some chocolate: But not all chocolate is created equal. You see, most of the stuff you find in the store is loaded with extra sugar and fat-the things that will decrease your arterial health. So make sure you get raw, unprocessed cocoa for maximum benefits.

Maintaining cardiovascular health is more important than ever. After all, modern environments seem to be having a harmful effect on our health. So take the necessary precautions today so that you can have good health tomorrow.
